I've been experimenting with my insulin dosing the last few days. I want to see what happens when I don't take any insulin. My theory is my basal dose, usually 100 units, is too high, and that it's driving my appetite above and beyond what it would be minus the insulin.
I went low carb Wednesday, kept it under 20 grams total. My glucose numbers were very good, hovering between 4 - 6 the whole day, except for the morning.
When I woke up it was bit high 6.5, and 1 hour after eating breakfast, I went up to 8.2, so I gave myself 20 units of Toronto. I finished the day at 6.2 and woke up 8.4 the next day. I think even if I eat low carb Bernstein style, meaning 30 grams or so a day, 12 per meal max and 6 in the morning, I might still need to use some basal overnight.
It'll be interesting to see what happens when I completely emigrate to decarbiNation.
In the meantime, I'm still eating carbs. I cleared a whole lot out of my cupboards, but I kept some that I like and want to eat. I'll see how they affect my blood sugars. I hope to be able to eat some of the carby stuff I'm used to, but I'm prepared to ditch what spikes me.

Right now my sleep schedule is turned around and I'm falling asleep as the sun is coming up. I prefer my usual sleep schedule with my sleep window falling roughly between 2 and 10am. It'll likely fall back into pattern soon though.
